TRACED WITH PURPOSE

you are not a mistake – you are created uniquely for a unique purpose by God

Purpose

Suffering is for your good and for His glory!

Posted on October 11, 2014 Leave a Comment

Never doubt God’s knowledge of the future over your own. He’s got way better things in store for you than you can ever imagine! It’s not always easy and sometimes He’ll take you thru the darkest valley of death but all of it is part of His amazing plan that you can’t always see. All suffering God allows into your life He takes and turns it for our good and for His Glory. It won’t always seem like it is for our good in our selfish, short term minded thinking: however; our selfish thinking doesn’t change the Truth of this. There is nothing that can ever come into your life that God cannot use for your good and for His glory!

What does “for your good” mean? Our ultimate purpose in life is to live a life that Glorifies God. To Glorify God means our lives are like a telescope, we take something that is magnificent and far away and bring it close for others to see.
In this way when God allows suffering into our life, it is for our good in that He gives us an opportunity through our suffering to “Glorify” Him. Since our purpose in life is to Glorify Him then suffering is for our good! The suffering God has chosen me to walk through has in turn brought more blessings and “life” into my life than I could have ever imagined!
Jesus is the ultimate example of this when He was praying before he was to be crucified in the cruelest way. His heart beat was that the Father be Glorified.

Here is a little video we shared at our wedding of our life leading up to engagement and a few glimpses into our engagement. It’s our prayer that through the suffering God has chosen us to walk through that we would never lose sight of His purpose in it all and Glorify Him through it all. It’s not about us – It’s about Him.

It’s our passion that our story will inspire others to embrace God and His purpose in their own life through their suffering.

God Knits You Together

Inspired by a sermon on the radio this morning, some life experience and Matt Chandler’s sermon yesterday on the Sanctity of Life:

The Sanctity of Human Life from The Village Church on Vimeo.

There’s a purpose behind every suffering we experience but so often we give up because we can’t see past the cloud. Even if your suffering is caused by someone else’s wickedness God takes everything and works it together for the good of those who love Him. That “good” will not always be what you consider is best for you, but wouldn’t you think if God knows EVERYTHING, that He knows wayyyy better than we do about what’s GOOD for us and what’s not? You may never get to live to see the “good” of your suffering but that doesn’t change anything! Sometimes we just need to trust God’s sovereignty over our little brains! I for one suffer every single day compared to the healthy person, and sometimes it’s easy to get bogged down with the situation and feel hopeless and purposeless but then there’s this truth:

Psalm 139:13-16
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

God shaped you in your mother’s womb specifically for everything you will experience your entire life, the good and the bad and he dreamed of His purpose for you before you were even formed!! So don’t you think He cares deeply about you now that you are formed? God doesn’t reject or walk away from you through suffering, in fact, God often uses suffering to draw us to Him!

And yep, sometimes your greatest disappointments, are your blessings in disguise.

“Behold, it was VERY good”

Posted on December 5, 2013 Leave a Comment

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:31

Sometimes it’s easy to get discouraged about the handicaps God has allowed me to have, it makes me look weird and people stare. Lots of people struggle deep down with how God chose to create them, I’m not alone in this.

The truth in Genesis 1:31 rings true through the entire scriptures. We are created in the image of God, and when God looks at us he says “Behold, it is very good.” God has never or ever will create a single ugly thing. Everything God creates is beautiful! God created YOU! Stop wishing your physical appearance or circumstances were different because God created you just the way you are for a purpose! There’s not another soul alive, nor will there ever be that is exactly like you! Embrace who you are as a Creation of God and ask how can you fulfill your unique purpose instead of wasting energy asking God why He created you like He did.

You are beautiful just the way you are!

Why Me?

Posted on October 31, 2013 Leave a Comment

You’ll always have those “why me” days but just remember there’s a bigger purpose in life than yourself and if you live your life in tune with God’s purpose this verse applies to you! Pain & Suffering we experience currently is nothing compared to the future God has for us!

“and He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall no longer be any death; there shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” Romans 21:4

You Are Traced With Purpose!

Update: My followup DR visit went very well. The tumors that have grown are in areas that are of no concern and the tumors I have in critical areas are very stable! For about a month since I did my MRI scans and seeing the tumors that grew substantially I was expecting a lot worse.

I’ve got that feeling like I was just given back several years of my life. When you go thru times of not knowing how much longer you have to live a fairly normal healthy life, it puts things in perspective for you!

Life is a gift, not a curse! No matter how nasty the circumstances and how “unfair” it may seem sometimes, life is a beautiful thing.

Be thankful for what you have!

You Are Traced With Purpose!

Comment with things you are thankful for in your healthy life.

For me:
I can still hear
I can still see
I can still walk even tho I can’t do the straight line thing :p

When you compare among yourselves you either feel guilty for being blessed with more, or you envy those who have been.

Gods way is to not compare among ourselves but count what he has given each of us as a blessing. He may let you have good hearing-and take my hearing. I could get all grumpy about that but why? We don’t deserve anything, but beyond that-God isn’t careless and doesn’t care-He creates you and takes and gives according to his purpose! Nick Vujicic is a rock star example of how God creates us each differently and maybe even with some handicaps because He has a purpose for our life-he turns our disabilities into abilities for His Glory!
